Letters of Introduction (All Staff and Students)

These are available to all members of Trinity College Dublin to aid admission to any library by contacting library@tcd.ie. However, the Library of Trinity College Dublin cannot guarantee acceptance by the other institution.

Letters of introduction can only be used to consult individual, identified, resources not currently available in the Library of Trinity College Dublin.

Library Link Cards (Academic Staff and Postgraduate Students)

A Library Link card enables access to the collections of participating libraries, but without borrowing rights, and subject to their rules and regulations.

  • Full-time academic staff
  • Academic-related staff
  • Retired staff from the above categories
  • Registered students reading for higher degrees

Retired Staff Library Link Application

To obtain and use a Library Link card:

  • Complete the relevant online form above
  • You will receive an e-mail when your Library Link card is ready to be collected from the Service Counter in the Eavan Boland Library
  • Carry your Trinity College Dublin ID card at all times, along with your Library Link card, when visiting other libraries
  • Be familiar with regulations that apply in each library you visit
